Update: Nov. 26

Construction for the new canopy is still underway, with a new expected completion date of Jan. 1, 2020.

At this time, the northern part of the canopy near the surface parking lot — connecting to the Circle of Hope — is open for use. Temporary construction fencing has been installed to clearly identify parts of the canopy that are currently closed. This includes the service drive portion that accesses the new hotel and the 1329 Building.

Update: May 22

In early May, installation began on a new 750 feet long covered lighted walkway, or canopy, connecting the 1329 Building to the Circle of Hope, across from the cancer hospital. The project should be complete in September.

Features include LED lighting, new landscaping, benches along the pathway, free Wi-Fi connection and three Blue Light emergency phones. The canopy will have a break in coverage between the new UF Health Guest House and 1329 Building service drive.
