Foot traffic changes at children’s hospital

With construction nearly complete at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, please note the following changes in foot traffic patterns and access from Tuesday, Aug. 19-Thursday, Sept. 4:

Tuesday, Aug. 19-Wednesday, Aug. 20: The UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital first-floor visitor lobby and two elevators in that area on the east side of the facility will temporarily closed beginning Tuesday morning, Aug. 19. They will reopen Thursday, Aug. 21. The UF Health Shands Hospital Atrium elevators will remain open during this time.

Wednesday, Aug. 20: A new ramp to the MRI building across from the east side of the facility will open for all patients, staff and visitors.

Friday, Aug. 29: The covered area next to the Pediatric E.R. entrance (ambulance ramp and foot traffic crossing) will reopen at the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.

Thursday, Sept. 4: The UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital entrance will open to all patients, visitors and staff first thing Thursday, Sept. 4.

Signage will be posted at the construction site noting these changes. Please follow the marked path and posted signage and alert staff who may be impacted. Please be prepared to assist patients and visitors who need help navigating this area during this time.
