In January 2015, UF Health leaders, faculty, staff and community members broke ground on the UF Health Heart & Vascular and Neuromedicine Hospitals, a $415 million project that will give rise to the Southeast’s most advanced home for the care of patients with cardiovascular and neurological issues. In December 2017, less than three years later, their shared vision will become a reality as the hospitals open their doors.
Built around the needs of the patient, the new hospitals have been designed with safety and efficiency in mind. Patients will have streamlined access to highly specialized, comprehensive outpatient treatment options and inpatient services in one location. They will benefit from outstanding faculty physicians and clinical experts collaborating in a world-class medical facility designed to meet their unique needs, with improved efficiency and operations as well as a welcoming, accessible design.
By fusing the latest medical technology with design and amenities that promote healing and recovery, this facility will dramatically transform our understanding and treatment of heart, vascular and neurological conditions and establish a new standard of care in the Southeast.
Encompassing 521,104 square feet, the new UF Health Heart & Vascular Hospital and UF Health Neuromedicine Hospital will have a combined 216 private rooms.
